The temp is above freezing already this morning and the forecast is for several mild days with rain and snow showers. Bummer. Melting and freezing make such an icy mess.
But I will take advantage of the warm weather and spend time in the barn skirting fiber. My goal is to get a batch or two out to the mill next week for processing into yarn. My next fiber event is SPA, in Freeport, Maine, in late Feb and I’m hoping to have some new yarn ready by then.
We’ll also use this mild stretch to wean some of our crias. We have quite a few large crias who are starting to be a drain on their mothers. Weaning them as a group seems to work well. There’s usually a bit of whining for a few days from the babies, but the mothers don’t seemed the least bit concerned. I’ll try out my new camera (Christmas present) on them this afternoon.
