Core-Spun Yarn for Rugs
Last week we picked up a new batch of yarn for weaving rugs. The yarn is core-spun, meaning that it’s made from alpaca fiber (from our herd) spun around a wool core yarn. The yarn was spun at Vermont’s newest mill, Aurora Spinnery in nearby Berlin.
To Dye or Not to Dye?
The last time we did rugs, all the yarn was dyed and the rugs were very colorful – you can see a photo below. This time, we might leave the natural colors, but since there’s so much white, maybe a bit of dyeing would be nice. Just to add a little color.
