Our first cria of the season was born yesterday and we’re off to a good start. Snowshoe Praline gave birth to a light brown female at day 325. That’s a little early and it shows; the cria has slightly floppy ears and her teeth have not erupted, but she weighs 17 lbs and was up and nursing in no time. Now it’s time to give her a name – any suggestions?
We have two more babies due around the first of June, so we’re keeping a close on on things out in the barn. Next up: Esther Rose maybe? Technically, she’s the first one due, but as you can see, thing don’t always work out that way. And we’re very excited about Izabella, our Dom Lucilio daughter, who is bred to our multi-champion white male, Snowshoe Aristides. Izzy is due around the first of June also and is the one we thought would go first – she’s huge! We’ll keep you posted (and maybe bore you!) with more baby pics
Anne
Can you have too many cute baby pics? (I personally say no, you can’t – bring em on!)
She’s a lovely warm, rich color – how about something like Drambuie? Such a pretty young lady!
Terry
Good suggestion! But we decided to name her Taline. It’s a combination of her dam’s and sire’s names. We’ll call her Tally. Gotta go with the DH’s suggestion once in a while! 😉
