Last year I was invited to dye some of our alpaca yarn for felted pillows. I worked with Alison at woollymama fiber arts and her client who was looking for several pillows to match the colors in her rug. With surprisingly little difficulty, I came up with two colors, a red and a green, that coordinated well with the rug. I had the mill, Sallie’s Fen, spin a worsted weight yarn made from 50% alpaca and 50% wool. This turned out to be a perfect yarn for this purpose.
Recently, I had the opportunity to see the finished pillows. Beautiful! All of us involved with this project are thrilled with how the pillows turned out. Alison liked working with our yarn and we look forward to working together again.
