We’re starting off on the right step this year – our firstborn cria is a girl! The first cria of the season was born on Friday, May 6. Her dam is our beautiful Nishio daughter, Isabellita, and her sire is our own champion white male, Snowshoe Aristides. This is the first cria sired by Aristides and we are thrilled at the promise we see in her incredibly dense and curly fiber!
She started off a bit rocky – she just did not get the hang of nursing. We supplemented her with a bottle and she kept trying. By Monday morning she was on her own.
This little girl still needs a name – any suggestions?

I think she looks like an “Aurielle”… Pronounced Are-E-el-E. Plus it kind of combines both parents’ names! She’s beautiful and so excited for a female cria this year! May the rest of the crias follow suit!
Oh! And I can’t wait to see her in person!

That’s a great idea – you’re good with names! We decided to make it even closer to her dam’s name and call the cria “Aribella”.
