This is the worst kind of winter weather – rain! It’s been raining all night and should start turning to snow this afternoon. Then everything will be covered with ice. And snow is moving in tomorrow. Hopefully, it will be a substantial amount – enough to cover up the ice.
This is a relatively quiet time of year on the farm. No breeding or birthing, just keeping everyone fed and watered and the barns clean. Everything takes a little longer when it’s cold or wet or icy. Tractors don’t start; hydrants freeze. But the alpacas seem to be warm and comfortable in their respective barns.
