It finally looks like winter! The recent mild weather has been a real treat, but lulled us into complacency in terms of the realities of winter. Looks like that’s over! A few inches of snow last night and cold this morning make it feel like a different world today. Time to dig out the winter barn clothes.
There are quite a few things that are less convenient in winter. Today, for instance, We have to give our alpaca, Natalie, a couple of injections. And we have to trim some toenails this week. All these things are very awkward to do with heavy gloves, but the weather is too cold for bare fingers for long. But they still have to be done. The sun’s coming out, so we’ll wait and see if it warms up a bit.
The snow last night even inspired me to start writing my Christmas cards. That’s a chore I usually leave until the last minute.
