There are too many October events! This year will mark the first time in MANY years that Snowshoe Farm will not be participating in the fall alpaca shows. We did not make this decision lightly, but it makes the most sense for us. This year, as happens every few years, the fall show in Syracuse conflicts with the NYS Sheep & Wool Festival in Rhinebeck, NY. The Rhinebeck festival is a big event where we sell a LOT of alpaca yarn, roving and more. We’ve been doing this event almost as long as the alpaca shows. For us to manage two events in different locations in one weekend is more trouble and expense than we can justify. Snowshoe Farm is a two-person operation. That’s why you usually only see one of us at an event…someone needs to stay home and take care of the farm, including alpacas, chickens, dogs and cat. So this fall, Ron will be home in Vermont instead of at the Showtacular while Terry is in Rhinebeck.
We will miss seeing all our alpaca friends and wish everyone safe travels and a successful show!
Here are pics of a few of the alpacas we had considered showing this fall….
