Our schedule usually includes a string of alpaca shows each spring and fall. Both are very busy times of year even without the added stress of shows. But now that Ron is so busy shearing, we don’t do all the spring shows that we used to do. Ron took four of our boys to the North American last weekend and that’s it for this spring. He starts shearing next week.
The highlight of last weekend’s show, for us, was that our two year old white male, Snowshoe Aristides, took second place in his class behind the color champion. This is one of the most competitive shows in the country and the color champion was a male that Aristides beat in a show last fall. So, needless to say, we’re pretty happy and Aristides has another solid award to add to his already impressive record.
Ari’s first crias are due in May and we are eager to see what he’ll produce. We promise baby pictures!
