The male alpacas we use for breeding here at Snowshoe Farm are chosen with very specific criteria in mind. Our aim with every breeding is to enhance the desirable traits of the female and improve those traits in which she is lacking. It goes without saying that the herdsires’s conformation – overall structural integrity and proportions – must be correct, and the alpaca must be healthy and reproductively sound. In addition, we are especially focused on fiber characteristics such as fineness and uniformity of the fiber in the staple and over the body.
We no longer offer stud services, but we are pleased to present the males that are currently part of our breeding program.
