It seems like 2020 just got started and suddenly it’s February! How did that happen?!
And now we’re planning for April events…the first alpaca event of the season for our farm is usually the Spring Alpaca Spectacular at Eastern States Expo on April 3-5. This is a great event that includes two alpaca shows over the weekend and features alpacas from some of the best breeding programs in the country.
Registration is open, so it’s time to make plans. If you are interested in learning about alpacas or if you’d like to see a lot of high quality alpacas and meet the breeders, this is the perfect event. Talk to breeders, hear judges’ comments and check out some gorgeous fleeces with your own eyes and hands.
We are lucky that we had two beautiful female alpacas born last summer. Snowshoe Maple and Snowshoe Rowen are both daughters of Xanadu P Concerto. We are loving our Concerto crias. Just take a look at the fleeces on these two.
I only wish we had shorn them last summer as we usually do. Oh well, they’ll be messy, but they won’t be the only ones. It will be a reminder to us to shear crias this year!
Hope to see you at the show!
