This is the time of year our efforts turn to the necessary and sometimes challenging task of wrapping up our financial records for income tax purposes. This is a chore that I can procrastinate about for quite a while, but once I start getting emails from the accountant, I know it’s time to hustle. I’m a pretty well organized record keeper, but a bookkeeper, I am not. I do keep track of all our finances during the year, but rely on a professional accounting firm to prepare the farm’s tax forms. And they like to receive our records as soon after the first of the year as possible. So that’s my goal this week: to finalize the records that need to go the accountant.
At the same time, I am busy dyeing yarn in preparation for the “Buy Local Market” at the Vermont Farm Show next week. Ron will be at the Farm Show with a couple of alpacas on Tues and we will both be there for Consumer Night and the Market on Wed from 4-7. Come and see us!
